The real answer to this question is there is not a single cause for the real estate market but multiple causes. Greed is a factor but another factor is social engineering. Mortgages were given to people that should have been given a mortgage. Politicians in Washington said after all Home ownership is a right. Their is no one shoe fit all fix for the problem as many especially the Beltway people would have us believe. When the dust clears the solutions will be evident.
