So what's the deal with alimony?

I don't agree with alimony either its just for the women who want to put the screws to the ex, its sickening, there is no reason why in this day and age a woman can not work. There is no reason an ex should have to support the low life that goes after the alimony, I think men should start taking women to court for alimony than. Apparently all is fair in love and war.
