When I get angry I throw things/hit things, but I stop myself help?
i used to go thought the same thing when i was your age. I would get angry quickly with my mother and say and do things which i later regretted. Try to stay calm. When your mom starts something which is making you angry quietly walk away and go to your room. That is what i started doing. If you sit there and listen to her then it will provoke you to talk back, simply walk away. I started writing in a journal when i was angry. So keep a notebook and when you are feeling angry or sad just take it all out on paper you will feel ten times lighter trust me it really helped me. If you feel like crying then don't hold your tears back let them out and you will feel better within seconds. So, next time just walk away and instead of finding things to throw, pick up a pen and a notebook and take it all out on the paper. Then try to take a short nap when you wake up you will forget you were even angry!
