What do you think of Tokyo and Japan?

I'm an Asian and never had traveled in Japan. However, hearing the word "Tokyo" or "Japan" , I think of the super modern, advanced country, Japanese foods like shabu-shabu, tempura etc. These foods are good and these reflect on how good this country is in any aspect. I don't know about what the Englishmen or Americans think of you japanese people. Maybe they're just envious of you guys because you invade the world with your high-tech gadgets and strong culture.
