Can I get a Restraining order aginst my Ex?

I told my ex not to call me or text me. He does. when im not around my phone i have almost 11 missed calls from him. when he text me he har me sometimes, calling me names then saying i love you and after saying i love you, hell text me again haring me telling me to go do ual acts to guys. he believes im in love with him, saying to me you ll realize it one day. he hares me on face book putting on a show for his friends calling me names and slandering my name and personality.( we don't live together, he lives with my aunt) 2 days ago i was minding my own business getting read for bed, i laid down , he came to me and words was exchanged and he ddidn't like something i said so he grabbed my neck after that it was a physicalaltercationn i told him not to call, email or txt me anymore and he do. he says i feel like choking you most of the time then he turns around and says let work things out, weeks ago he hit me in the leg with a canned soda so hard it swelled my leg, do i have a ppotential stalker on my hands should i get a restraining order? I need honest suggestions
